It’s hard to believe we are only 6 months away from Halloween. Saturday, April 28th, Tradition Brewing Company will host a fundraising event to commemorate this glorious occasion.
Come dressed in your best costume and run the inaugural Beer Mile! (Yes, I said ‘beer’ and ‘mile’ in the same line). This event will feature a live DJ, food trucks and the beer mile race. You can also choose to participate in the ‘pay to spray’ water gun stations or enjoy a few games of cornhole. Costumes are encouraged for a chance to win prizes.
If you’re unfamiliar with how a ‘beer mile’ goes down, here’s how it works. Every quarter mile you’ll drink a beer, and must finish your beer before you can continue running. There will be awards for the top male and female runners upon completion.
100% of proceeds made from this event will benefit Students Run The Streets, a local nonprofit organization helping middle and high school students in Newport News.
To register, visit www.TBCBeerMile.com. Please note you must be 21+ to participate in this event. You may still attend the event if you are under 21, but cannot participate in the beer mile.
Here is a Monday you can look forward to! The evening of August 28th, grab your girlfriends and head out to Bull Island Brewery for their ‘Ladies Night Out By The Water’. Hampton Roads Housewives’ is excited to present this ever-popular event.

Friday, June 23rd, mark your calendar for the best Luau Hampton has ever seen! Grab the flip-flops and Hawaiian shirts to party on the beach for a great cause. Students Run The Streets is a free, after-school running club that works with middle and high school students from Heritage and Huntington. Through exercise, mentorship, and supplemental education, they work to help every student achieve their personal best in all aspects of life.
This is the first year for the program, and the students absolutely love it. They were able to participate in the Christmas Town Dash, One-City Marathon, Chick-fil-A 5K, and Pirate Run 5K. This program provides the students with anything they need to run from shoes to clothes and water bottles.
The Luau themed event will take place at Paradise Ocean Club and feature live music, pool and beach access, and dinner. Enjoy all-you-can-eat hot dogs and hamburgers, sides, and one (nonalcoholic) drink. All proceeds made from this event will go to the organization.
Tidewater Drive band will begin performing at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $15. The event will be from 5-9pm, but you can print your ticket and come early if you want to enjoy the beach/pool all day.
You must purchase tickets online in advance at eventbrite.com/tiki-time. Aloha!
