“19th Annual Blackbeard Pirate Festival” in Downtown Hampton

Brace yourself for a weekend full of swashbuckling excitement! The 19th Annual Blackbeard Festival returns to Downtown Hampton June 2-3.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of Blackbeard and his crew all weekend long. Interact with Blackbeard himself and over 100 other authentically costumed pirate re-enactors as they run rampant on the streets of Downtown Hampton! Saturday and Sunday will include costumed characters and a replica of Blackbeard’s pirate camp, complete with live history interpreters teaching skills of the sailor circa 1700.

This year, the pirates will celebrate the 300th anniversary of Blackbeard’s notorious demise! There will also be a children’s area with activities including colonial games, pirate face-painting, strolling fairies, digging for treasure and more.

The festivities will take place Saturday from 10am-10pm and Sunday from 12pm-6pm.

“Blackbeard Festival” in Downtown Hampton

Brace yourself for a weekend of swashbuckling excitement! The 18th Annual Blackbeard Festival returns to Downtown Hampton June 2-4. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Blackbeard and his crew. Interact with Blackbeard himself and over 100 other authentically costumed pirate re-enactors as they run rampant on the streets of Downtown Hampton.

The festivities kick-off Friday night, June 2, with the Grand Pirates’ Bash at the Historic Post Office. This event is ‘creative back-tie’ or time period attire. This celebration features a bounty of food, drinks, live music, and more. Admission for the Ball is $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

Saturday and Sunday will include costumed characters and a replica of Blackbeard’s pirate camp, complete with live history interpreters teaching skills of the sailor circa 1700. This year, the festival welcomes two tall ships to the docks as well as the Sailboat Apostle. There will be a children’s area with activities including colonial games, pirate face-painting, strolling fairies, digging for treasure and more.

“Pirates Invade Yorktown” at Riverwalk

The Watermen’s Museum is excited to host an epic swashbuckling event April 29th-30th. The ‘Pirate Invasion’ will feature pirates and pirate-hunters on a quest for supremacy of the seas! This will be a grand battle between law and freedom.

You can expect to see pirates representing seafaring life in the late 17th and 18th centuries. They will ‘invade’ Yorktown along with cannon firing demonstrations and a heroic battle of wits. Guests will have the option to visit the encampments and sing along with pirates. There will be children’s activities and special appearances by well-known local pirates. This event is family-friendly and free.
