Due to a tremendously successful first and second Wine & Brine Event at Gabriel Archer Tavern, the Williamsburg Winery is pleased to present ‘Wine & Brine Lounge’ every single weekend.

Join  the winery every Saturday and Sunday at the Gabriel Archer Tavern’s outside Wine & Brine Lounge to taste some of the Chesapeake Bay’s finest oysters along with other fresh seafood delights such as shrimp and mussels.

Every Saturday, a Virginia oysterwoman and/or oysterman will be on-site serving their delicious oysters. Hear from the hardworking women and men who farm their world-class bivalves while you enjoy a glass of Virginia wine overlooking the vineyards at The Williamsburg Winery

This ongoing event is every Saturday 11 am -8 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm.

“Oyster Roast at Captain Chuck-a-Mucks”

What better way to welcome Spring than an oyster roast on the water? Captain Chuck-a-Mucks will host their Oyster Roast Saturday, April 7th.

Captain Chuck-a-Mucks, also known as the Captain’s Secret Hideout #2, is located on Jones Creek in Isle of Wight County.  The restaurant is well known for their exceptional seafood, great customer service and beautiful views.

Bring the entire family out for an afternoon of great food and fun in beautiful downtown Rescue near historic downtown Smithfield.

The oyster roast will offer steamed or raw oysters on the half shell, fried oysters, clams, BBQ and crab soup. There will be drink specials and live music by Chris Ride. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. This event is from 2-5pm.

“Oyster Roast” at Hoss’s Deli in Newport News

Hoss’s Deli will host their first ever Oyster Roast Saturday, April 14th. The event will feature live music, locally caught oysters and a fun crowd!

Enjoy a wide selection of beverages, great service and local oysters. Park your ‘bikes out back’ and kick it with the cool kids. Austin Ferguson will perform live and keep you dancin’ all day long. Specials include $2 oyster shooters and a dozen oysters for only $6.

Oyster shell recycling will be provided by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. This event is from 12-5 and will be held rain or shine.

“City Center Oyster Roast” in Newport News

Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism will partner with Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate to present The City Center Oyster Roast. This event will take place Friday, October 20th from 6-9pm.

You’ll enjoy live music, great food, a variety of beverages and other fun activities. Harpoon Larry’s will provide raw and roasted oysters along with other signature favorites. Additional food vendors include Capt’n Crabby, Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cake of Virginia, Couture Cakes By Nika and Mama Neem’s Mobile Seafood. Beer, wine and bourbon sales will benefit the Warwick Ruritan Club.

Admission and parking are free. The food is ‘pay as you go’. Dance the night away with The Deloreans 80’s Band and enjoy great food, drinks and friends.

“Wine & Brine Lounge” with Williamsburg Winery

Due to a tremendously successful first Wine & Brine Event at Gabriel Archer Tavern, the Williamsburg Winery is pleased to present ‘Wine & Brine Lounge, Sauvignon Blanc Release’. This highly anticipated event will take place Saturday and Sunday, from 11am-7pm from March until November.

Mark your calendars for the kick-off March 18th and join the Winery in welcoming renowned waterman Chris Ludford from Pleasure House Oyster Company. In addition to world-class wine and brine, there will also be live music and the long-awaited release of their brand new Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc! This will be the first single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc release by the Williamsburg Winery since 2011 Vintage. No reservations are required.

“Jackpot Bash Fundraiser” Presented by Community Knights

We’ve found an excellent way to kickoff St. Patrick’s Day, enjoy fresh York River oysters, and raise funds and awareness for an awesome cause! Thursday, March 16th, plan to attend the ‘Jackpot Bash Fundraiser’ presented by Community Knights, Inc. This event will take place at Tradition Brewing Company and will feature an all-you-can-eat Fresh Oyster Bar, plenty of hors d’oeuvres, a giftcard giveaway, and a Community Grant Award Presentation.

Community Knights, Inc. has awarded over a 1/2 million dollars in Grant Funds to the Virginia Peninsula through their quarterly grant initiative, the G.I.F.T. program, since 2013. Grants go to local non-profits and public school organizations.

The event is from 5.30-8pm. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Included with ticket price is an oyster raw bar, BBQ ‘layered cocktails’ by The Grey Goose, and 2 beer tickets. This is an excellent cause and will be a great experience.

“Smoke Seafood Bash” in Newport News

Go ahead and mark your calendars now for the SMOKE Seafood Bash on Saturday, November 19th. Grab your friends and come out for a guaranteed great time. There will be several different varieties of oysters to try, live music, drink specials, and an all-day party.

Along with delicious oysters, there will be fried shrimp, fried fish, clam chowder and regular menu items. From 5-9pm, enjoy live music from ‘Seven Ten Oil’ while hanging out on Smoke’s awesome patio. Not to worry, there will be outside heaters as well as seats by the fireplace. Come out anytime from 1-10pm. This event is free to attend, proper ID is required. Food will be sold ‘a la carte’.
