“Block Party Returns to Downtown Hampton”

The Block Party is back y’all! Saturday, May 5th, let’s kick off the warm weather with some great live music, family entertainment and refreshments at the block.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Tumbao Salsero this Saturday! This upbeat orchestra consists of eleven members that will keep your feet moving all night long with full Latin percussion. The band features timbales, congas, bongos, trumpets, piano and two lead vocalists. Their repertoire includes many Latin rhythms, such as: Salsa, Merengue, Guaguancó, Son Montuno, Jazz, Bomba and Plena.

This family friendly event is free and begins at 6pm. The children’s area will be open from 6-8pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

“New Year’s Eve Block Party” in Downtown Hampton

Gather your friends and boogie your way into 2018! The Downtown Hampton Development Partnership is pleased to announce the “Disco Inferno” New Year’s Eve Block Party in Downtown Hampton.

Dress the part and feel the funk by local’s favorite, DJ Taylor Haycox. Enjoy food from street vendors as well as the amazing restaurants along Queens Way that will be open for drinks and food.

At midnight, there will be a crab pot drop from the top of the Old Point National Bank headquarters, which will be a must-see.

“Hampton Holly Days Parade” in Downtown Hampton

This December 9, let the joy of the holiday season take over at the Hampton Holly Days Parade: Holiday Lift Off in honor of NASA Langley Research Center’s centennial celebration. The free event, taking place at 7:00 p.m. in downtown Hampton, is one of the largest annual illuminated parades in all of Hampton Roads.

Hampton Holly Days Parade will feature over 70 units, including beautiful floats, marching bands including high school bands, auto clubs, dance groups, military honor units, and everyone’s favorite holiday guest…Santa Claus!

“6th Annual Phoebus Holiday Illumination”

Kick off the Holiday season in Hampton this Friday! Bundle up and get ready to enjoy stunning holiday lights, music and food with the family.

It’s a winter wonderland in Phoebus! Join in for the 6th Annual Phoebus Holiday Illumination Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a special holiday tree lighting at 8 p.m.

Phoebus will be filled with a variety of holiday themed crafts, food and music. Santa and Lucky the Dinosaur will be in attendance and the weather forecast is calling for SNOW on Mellen Street!

“Lighted Boat Parade” in Downtown Hampton


Gather the family and bundle up for the 29th annual Lighted Boat Parade in Downtown Hampton.

Friday, December 8th, jump into the holiday spirit by watching a parade of beautifully decorated boats cruising the river. More than 20 vessels are expected to participate in this free nautical light show at the downtown waterfront.

The event will kick off with live music by Little Doors beginning at 6pm. At 7pm, the parade of illuminated power and sail boats will be visible from anywhere along the Hampton River.

“Brewer’s Ball” at the Historic Post Office in Hampton

The Holidays are quickly approaching, and with that comes wonderful fundraisers. Friday, November 3rd, plan to attend ‘The Brewer’s Ball’, an event held to showcase the finest in craft beer, food and people in Hampton Roads.

The Brewer’s Ball is held each year to raise awareness for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All proceeds made will go directly to benefit the foundation. This year’s fundraiser will be held at The Historic Post Office in downtown Hampton. Guests will enjoy hand crafted beer from local brewers and delicious food samplings from the best local restaurants. Dance the night away with live music, take part in a silent auction and mix and mingle with the best and brightest in our area.

Attire is cocktail, with a 1920’s Speakeasy theme. Must be 21 and over to attend. This event is from 7-11pm.

“Pride Party” in Downtown Hampton

The Third Annual Pride Party on the Peninsula is quickly approaching! Wednesday, June 14th, the Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau along with Downtown Hampton Development Partnership will host the Pride Party at the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a DJ, and a complimentary drink ticket for the first 300 guests. This event is free and open to the public, but please register online in advance at visithampton.com/prideparty.

New to the festivities this year is the ‘Drag Down the River Boat Cruise’ aboard the Miss Hampton II with emcee Jennifer Dion and special guest. Highlights will include drag queens, music, dancing, and light fare by Graham & Rollins. This event is from 5.30-8pm.
