“Helpful Paws, Extraordinary Dogs” at Virginia Living Museum

Come out and experience the bonds of companionship and service that are part of the special relationship with working dogs. Meet dogs (and humans) from the Tidewater Chapter of Pets for Vets, whose mission is to unite deserving veterans with specially trained dogs rescued from shelters.

Members of the Newport News K-9 Unit will also be onsite to demonstrate how these highly trained dogs help keep our police officers and communities safe. Merrimac Dog Training Club and Canine Companions for Independence will also demonstrate special training. Till Waggin’ Tutors therapy dogs will be there to show how they help children improve their reading skills. And of course, the wonderful folks from the SPCA will be onsite if you are looking for a pet to adopt!

This event is Saturday, April 8th from 10am-3pm at the Virginia Living Museum.
