Start gathering your fun friends now for the two new “Escape Rooms” heading to the Peninsula. The ‘Lock In’ plans to open October 7th next to Wine & Design in City Center. The puzzle-style, clue-solving, social game provides a very different experience for this area. Groups of two to eight people will try to solve clues to escape from a room. (Participants are never actually locked in). The Lock In plans to have five rooms in the 1,564 sqft building. One room will change every six months, and as we get closer to Halloween, two of the rooms will become scary with live actors. Themes include an insane asylum, house of horror, mad science, jail and granny’s attic.
The other escape room coming to Village Square at Kiln Creek is called ‘Escape Newport News’. With plans to open by Thanksgiving weekend, this 2,000 sqft space will also have five rooms. This one will feature one room for kids with an underwater adventure. The owner hopes to have a niche for team-building. He would like to incorporate the escape room experience for a full-day of training for clients who are interested.
They both sound like a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to try them out!
