“Vintage Finds Market” Hosted by HIP

Attention lovers of all things VINTAGE! Spend your afternoon in beautiful Port Warwick this Saturday, April 21st from 1-5pm. 

Enjoy browsing through several amazing vendors that will be selling unique clothing, accessories and items for your home. Rita Baker of Vintage Haven will be on site, Stifel & Capra, as well as Karen Martin from the Hilton Village shop, Madame et Monsieur. The Coral Caravan from Virginia Beach will also be parked out front, packed full of retail therapy. These boutiques are just a few that will be participating.

Local foodies, including Lolly’s Creamery will be serving up some amazing treats. The one and only Jolly Roasters Coffee Co. will be keeping everyone excited all day.

“Shrimpfest 2018” at Port Warwick

Friday, May 4th, get ready to party for a great cause! The Rotary Club of Newport News and Hampton Roads Event Rentals present Shrimpfest 2018. Enjoy amazing food, music and great company.

Admission includes food, drinks, a DJ and dancing. Dinner includes giant peel-and-eat shrimp, BBQ , sides, craft beer and wine. Featured beers are El Guapo IPA, Vienna Lager, Devil’s Backbone, Larry’s Lemonade, St. George Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Shock Top and Bud Light.

This is their primary annual fundraiser and ALL proceeds are given back to local charities. Last year, more than $25,000  was distributed back into our community for organizations such as the Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Free Clinic, Operation Cat Snip and many, many others. This event will take place at Port Warwick from 5.30-9pm.

“Open the Patio Party” at Schooners Grill

The weather looks perfect for a weekend of outside fun at Schooners! Saturday, April 14th, let’s kick off Spring with a patio party. Catch live music, drink specials and more this weekend.

Schooners Grill is well known for their amazing food, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Enjoy food and drink specials throughout the day and be sure to catch a few new additions to the cocktail menu.

Live music will begin at 2pm with Brian Carmona followed by Matt Yarborough for the evening. We can’t wait to sit outside and enjoy that glorious patio (and Greek Pizza). Get there early to secure a good seat.

“Hilton Centennial Beer Release Party” at Tradition Brewing Co.

Friday, April 13th, Tradition Brewing Company will celebrate the Hilton 100 tribute with the release of The Villager, a traditional English Ale that was popular during the early 1900’s.  The release party will also feature several events to commemorate this historic celebration.

The Villager release will take place at 2pm, 4-pack-16oz cans will officially go on sale at 6pm and live music by Derek Smith will begin at 7:30pm. There will also be a pop-up shop by Hilton Village 100, LIVE painting by renowned artist Cynthia Newton and a book signing by John V Quarstein.

Enjoy dinner and desserts with the amazing food from the Circa 1918 Kitchen & Bar New American Cuisine Food Truck and Indulge Bakery and Bistro. This event is from 6-10pm.

“The Mariners’ Craft Beer Festival” in Newport News

Let’s welcome summer properly with a Craft Beer Festival at the Mariners’ Museum! Come out Sunday, May 6th for great beer, good food and live music

The sixth annual Mariners’ Craft Beer Festival will feature craft beers in the unique setting of The Mariners’ Museum’s outdoor courtyards. Tickets include 20 four-ounce craft beer tastings , a souvenir  tasting glass and the day’s admission to the museum.

Food truck will be on site for an additional charge. General Admission tickets are $35 in advance, $45 the day of. This event is from 12-5pm and will go on rain or shine.

“Tasting Room Grand Opening” At Ironclad Distillery Co.

The day has finally arrived! The much-anticipated opening of the Tasting Room at Ironclad will take place Saturday, March 31st. Spend the afternoon touring the beautiful, historic building while learning all about the history of the company and the product.

Come out to show support, meet fellow bourbon lovers and get a taste of what Ironclad has to offer. The day’s festivities will include tastings, cocktails, live music and a literal outpouring of history and stories. Take advantage of the opportunity to see how their hand-crafted bourbon is made, or pick up a bottle to take home.

Tastings are $5, or you can get a Tasting Flight (a one ounce sample plus your choice of two cocktails) for $20, or you can just get an individual cocktail from the menu.

Free tours will be given every hour on the hour. Last tour leaves at 4pm. This event is from 12-5pm. We will see you there!

“Oyster Roast” at Hoss’s Deli in Newport News

Hoss’s Deli will host their first ever Oyster Roast Saturday, April 14th. The event will feature live music, locally caught oysters and a fun crowd!

Enjoy a wide selection of beverages, great service and local oysters. Park your ‘bikes out back’ and kick it with the cool kids. Austin Ferguson will perform live and keep you dancin’ all day long. Specials include $2 oyster shooters and a dozen oysters for only $6.

Oyster shell recycling will be provided by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. This event is from 12-5 and will be held rain or shine.
