“Dogs of DoG Street” Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg welcomes back the famous Dogs of DoG Street Event this Fall. Grab the pups and lace up your sneakers! Beginning at 11am on October 15th, the Revolutionary City is officially ‘going to the dogs’. Bring the whole family and join George Washington, Liberty and the beautiful people of the Heritage Humane Society as they lead the way from Palace Green, down Duke of Gloucester Street, and to the Capital.

There will be a Halloween Costume Contest (yes, for the dogs) at 10.30am, and free gourmet dog treats from 8am-noon. Check-in begins at 9.15am.

“Craft Beer Bash” War Memorial Stadium

October 15th from 1-5pm, CLUBWAKA and Jungle Gym Strength and Conditioning will come together to introduce the first ever Craft Beer Bash! This event is presented by (and will take place at) War Memorial Stadium in Hampton.

Enjoy unlimited pours from 10 different breweries, plenty of food trucks and the live music of Hey Hey Hooligan. Tickets start at $35 and $5 from every purchase will go towards the Boys & Girls Club of Newport News. All attendees must be 21 and up and have proper ID.

“JLHR Craft Beer Fest” at Peninsula Town Center

This event was rescheduled for Sunday, October 30th.

Saturday, October 8th, come out for the 4th Annual JLHR Craft Beer Festival.  This event will be held at Peninsula Town Center in Hampton.  All proceeds benefit the Junior League of Hampton Roads and will go on rain or shine.  The festival will feature live music from local-favorite The Deloreans, food/merchant vendors, fun raffles & contests, and of course craft beer!  

To sample the craft beers, you will need to purchase a tasting ticket online or at the door. $10 non-drinking tickets available at the door also.  The party will take place in the Town Square area across from Barnes and Noble.

“The Heist” Casino Night at PFAC

Gentlemen, find your best suit and bring your ladies dressed to kill.  Join your friends and fellow high-rollers at The Heist- Casino Night, Auction and Dinner. This event takes place on Friday, October 14th at The Peninsula Fine Arts Center.

You’ll enjoy an evening of dinner, live music, casino games, signature cocktails, cash bar and a chance to win a 3-day trip to Vegas! There will also be a silent auction featuring heisted goods from artists and high-rollers around town. Proceeds will go to benefit PFAC’s education and healing arts program.

General Admission Tickets are $60 per person, price increases to $75 October 1st. High-rollers can get a VIP ticket for $100 which includes more PFAC fun money for the casino, access to the VIP Casino Room and a personal concierge. VIP prices increase to $125 October 1st. This is definitely going to be a fun evening so get your tickets early!

“Ford Fiesta Raffle” for American Cancer Society

Want a new Ford Fiesta for $20!? Feeling lucky!? Help support an amazing cause and ‘roll the dice’ by purchasing a $20 raffle ticket to benefit the American Cancer Society. There will be 1500 (or less) tickets sold. (Pretty nice odds with the prize being a brand new car!)

“When the Bough Breaks” Fundraiser

Grab your girlfriends and come out for a great cause. Sunday, September 18th, you are invited to a private screening of the thriller “When the Bough Breaks” at Paragon City Center. By purchasing tickets and attending this special event, you will be supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s-Peninsula. Show time is at 4pm, but please arrive by 3.30pm.

Tickets are only $12 and Paragon will donate $6 of each ticket sold to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s- Peninsula. Enjoy the beautiful (and ridiculously comfortable) atmosphere of the Paragon Theater all to support a great cause.

“Party at the Pond” Green Foundation

Reschedule for THURSDAY, October, 6th from 5:30-8:30pm.

Enjoy an evening by the water to support a wonderful cause. Wednesday, September 21st, grab your friends and head out to the ‘Party at the Pond’ sponsored by the Newport News Green Foundation. This event will feature a barbecue theme, food, drinks, dancing and a silent auction. There will also be a presentation of the 2016 Green Awards.

This is an annual fundraiser that provides support for green space projects and Green Foundation property beautification through the city of Newport News.

The party starts at 5.30pm until 8.30pm at 401 Chatham Trail, Newport News, VA 23602.  Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online here.

“Poker Run” at Quaker Steak

Round up your friends and grab the bikes to ride out for a great cause! The 5th Annual Poker Run to Fight MLS will be Saturday, September 24th. This event is sponsored by SMOKE BBQ in Newport News and is presented by “Sandy’s Cruisers”. The purpose is to raise funds and bring awareness to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). All vehicles are welcome to join.

Ok, we know some of you are asking yourself, “what is a poker run?”  We have you cover right here.

Participating restaurants are Quaker Steak & Lube, The Virginia Beer Company, Hooters and Beachcomber Restaurant. There will be food and drink specials along with raffles, 50/50 and more. Live music by the Heather Edwards Band. Registration is at Quaker Steak & Lube from 9am-11am. Cost is $15 per rider, $5 per passenger, $5 to add a hand.
